Version history:
----------------
SnrrrubSpace 0.4 Omicron - Nov. 9, 2001
    - first public release of SnrrrubSpace

Suggestions (if you don't read anything else, at least read this!)
-----------
Don't move around too quickly in the game.
If you find a bug, tell me immediately.

Required Libraries
------------------
SDL 1.2: http://www.libsdl.org
GTK+ : http://www.gtk.org

Installation
------------

Method 1: (for users with Continuum installed on a Windows partition)

Note: this will NOT work if you only have SubSpace installed - use
Method 2 instead if this is the case.

1) mkdir /home/user/.SnS

For example, if you're installing this as user 'snrrrub' and all the home
home directories on your system are located in /home, then you would type:

   mkdir /home/snrrrub/.SnS

IT IS CASE SENSITIVE! If you're not sure where the home directories are
   located, you can try doing:

   mkdir ~/.SnS

2) Copy zone.dat and profiles.dat from your Continuum directory to the new
directory you just created. For example, if your Continuum directory is
in /mnt/windows/continuum and your username is 'snrrrub' then you would
   do:

   cd /home/snrrrub/.SnS
   cp /mnt/windows/continuum/zone.dat /mnt/windows/continuum/profile.dat .

3) You're finished! Go back to the directory in which SnrrrubSpace is located
   and run the game.

   cd /home/snrrrub/SnrrrubSpace
   ./space

Method 2: (for users without Continuum)

1) Go to the directory in which SnrrrubSpace is located and run the game.
Assuming the home directories are located in /home, your username is
'snrrrub' and you placed all the SnrrrubSpace files in the directory
   'SnrrrubSpace', you would do:

   cd /home/snrrrub/SnrrrubSpace/
   ./space

This will create a directory and put a bunch of files in there by default.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE GAME YET!

2) Exit the program.

3) Copy the default zone.dat that comes with SnrrrubSpace to /home/snrrrub/.SnS
   like so:

   cp zone.dat /home/Snrrrub/.SnS

4) Now run the game and enjoy!

   ./space

Playing the Game
----------------
NOTE: You cannot create new accounts yet - please ask someone else to
create an account for you if you don't have one and then change
      your password.

To send public messages, just type the message and press enter.
To send private messages, place the user's name between two colons.
For example, if I were to send a message to DrDevice, I would do:

:DrDevice:Hey Devvy, you're in the README!

To send frequency messages, prepend // to your message:

//this is a frequency message!

If you've joined a chat channel using the command ?chat=<channel>
then you can do:

;message

or

;1;message

depending on which channel you want to send the message to.

If you need to see more chat lines, you can do ?lines=<# of lines>
where # of lines can be 0-40.

Configuration Options
---------------------
All the configuration files are stored in /home/snrrrub/.SnS (where
'snrrrub' is your username). In particular, you will find .default of
particular interest. You can select your default profile name there and
the skin to be used. The skin name is CASE SENSITIVE and must be placed
in the skin/ directory in your SnrrrubSpace directory.

Adding profiles
---------------
To add a profile, you need to modify the profile.dat file in the configuration
directory. It says it's a generated file, but it MAY be hand-edited if you're
careful. When adding profile, you must make sure that there is a blank line
between two different profiles, each profile has all fields, and that there is
a blank line at the end of the file.

Adding zones
------------
To add a zone to your list, you can edit the zone.dat file. The fields are
comma separated. The line after that is just informational. Please make sure you
put at least a hash (#) there.

<zone_name>,<zone_ip>,<zone_port>,<zone_url>,0
#Some description of the zone.

To find zone IPs and ports, you can go to http://sscentral.subspace.net:5050

Known Bugs
----------
1) On slow systems, the program segfaults on start. If this happens to
you, please contact me since I cannot test that on my system.

2) Changing arenas doesn't work properly.

3) It's not finished yet (hence no bullets, no radar, etc.)

Possible questions on your mind
-------------------------------
What is up with this "Omicron" business? Well, I thought I'd use another Greek
letter instead of "Alpha" or "Beta" just because I'm like that.

Acknowledgements
----------------
If I miss anyone, it's not intentional - please don't take it the wrong way.
Just tell me and I'll fix it up! :) Here's the list in no particular order:
