* I wrote this because I've always loved the ships in Subspace and thought it would *
* be cool to play them in Asteroids. I asked around but nobody with any Asteroids- *
* style game was willing to take friggin' 5 minutes to implement reverse thrust. *
* Well, if you want a job done right do it yourself. It took me a week to write *
* this and I did my best to copy the original and supreme Subspace ship settings. *
* You may have noticed the ships and settings come out of Subspace. Most of the *
* DirectX wrapper functions are from the book Windows Game Programming for Dummies. *
* This is freeware so feel free to distribute or modify the code as you wish. If *
* you copy my code directly though please give credit where credit is due :) *
*                                                                                     *

You might notice the included .cpp won't compile because of unresolved externals. This
is because I was too lazy to write them myself and used the graphics functions found
in WIndows Game Programming for Dummies. Since that book is copyrighted I can't
distribute the functions that come with it. If you get the book you can
compile this program by including Gpdumb1.cpp, Gpdumb2.cpp, Gpdumb1.h, and Gpdumb2.h.
You can also simply create your own functions which do the same thing. It's not
hard, just look in the DirectX SDK help file and start to cut and paste code from
the tutorials :)

I'm working on version 1.1 which will include flying saucers which shoot at you. There's
a lot involved in doing that so it'll be a while before I have time. If anyone can
contribute a flying saucer bmp with frames at 32x32 pixels I'd put your name
in the credits. I could also use some more 11.025 8 bit mono wav files. Thanks and
have fun!
