--------Readme file for Ban Database ver 1.04--------

Description :

This program searches through a ban file which you get from logging a session inside Continuum.
You can see how many bans a specified moderator has done, search for a spesific IP, MachineID,Nick or by BanID
Another option available is to list repeated offenders within the ban database.

The program can be fooled since it is based upon level 2 BanG access.
( In other words, it is as accurate as BanG access level 2 is )

It contains no known bugs and has went through multiple series of testing.
If you by any chance should get an error or the program fails to function properly in any
way, email me at Rifleman@17thParallel.com or the_scer@hotmail.com and I will provide you
with assistance and release a new version without the bug you found.
Remember to check out the mini-FAQ I have listed at the end of this file before doing so.

Usage :

First, you need to get the banfile.
You do this by entering the zone, logging into BanG ( level 2 required ).

Type ?log ban.txt
Then type ?listban -d # 2 100
You will now see all bans with details from the first ban made in your zone to
ban number XXX

Then type ?listban -d #XXX+1 100
XXX+1 is the number of the last ban you got from the last time you typed ?listban + 1.

Repeat this procedure until no more bans show up, then type ?log

After you have saved the log ( ?log the 2nd time ), edit ban.txt in the Logs folder in your continuum directory.
Remove any entries containing MyName>?listban #XXX XXX and other entries like chatter of any sort.
Save the file, then start the program.
Click on "Select banfile" and navigate to the edited banfile, then click once on it.
You should recive a message saying the banfile has been selected.

Another alternative is to use the program named "Banlog Retrive", which will download the file for you.
For instructions on how to use it, please examine the Readme! file supplied along with the program.

Now you`re all set to go, have fun. =)

Note that I do not take any responsibility if you decide to log the network bans and release them, since I do not know the current policy on this issue.

Mini-FAQ :

Q : I have done all you specified, but nothing shows up in any type of search!
A : Make sure you have atleast BanG access level 2 and have removed any blank spaces in the banfile (rare)

Q : Do I have to select the banfile each time I use the program?
A : No, unless you save the banfile in another path than before.

Q : What`s the difference between a banfile and the ban database?
A : They`re almost the same
After you have selected the banfile for the program, it is converted to a database by this program.

Q : Who should I give this program to?
A : Anyone, since they cannot use it without having lvl 2 BanG access

Q : The program doesen`t find certain persons who have been banned many times under the same name and machine ID... What is wrong?
A : You should search by name and by machineID, the two functions complete eachother by performing what the other cannot do.
(In short, I simplified the functions to keep myself from going crazy when programming)

Q : I`m getting a "Runtime Error : File or path not found", what should I do?
A : I`ve tried to keep the program bug-free, but in case this happens, re-set the path to the banfile ( ban log ).

Q : Where can I get the latest version of this program?
A : I`m planning a website, tough I`ll be away from computers until 1st of July 2003 ( military service )
