SPECIAL THANKS
--------------
O Z Z Y (steelhdr1@aol.com) for the Win95 Help file.
Descension (slave1@mindspring.com) for the graphics/logo.
Kinetics (kinetic1@ix.netcom.com) for help with the registry.

Here's some quick stuff to get you started. First, you will
need the file MSVBVM50.DLL in your Windows/System directory.
I didn't include it here because its kinda big. If you do
NOT have it, you can get it here:

www.globalserve.net/~nisus/download/msvbvm50.zip

Ok, the first time you run my program, you'll be asked to
tell it the location of your Subspace.exe. Simply
press the BROWSE button and locate it.

When the program starts up, it will load the current
Subspace registry settings.

IMPORTANT! - I highly suggest you SAVE these settings right
away to a .bsm file. Do this by selecting File->Save As
from the menu. For now, all .bsm files must be saved/read
from the same path you installed B22SM to.

Basically, you set all the options you want, and SAVE them
to a .bsm file. Make a different file for different
macros (League, War, Running, etc.). Also, for those you who
use multiple aliases, this is very usefull as well. AND, not
sure how many this applies to, but if there are multiple SS
players using your machine, each person can have their own
.bsm file with all the SS settings the way they like it.

As well as saving all the settings to a .bsm file, the B22SM
also saves just your macros to your Subspace directory in a
plain text format, readable by the ?loadmacro command in
Subspace. The name of this file will be the same as the .bsm
file, but with an extension of .ssm (SubSpace Macro). There
is also the ability to "Import" a plain text file into B22SM
using the File->Import command. This will allow easy trading
of macro files to be included in your .bsm profile.

Cool eh? :)

Now, instead of running the subspace.exe file when you want
to play, you'll run B22SM instead and load the settings you
want, then press the big button to run Subspace.

The B22SM also provides a System Tray Icon (a small icon on
the application bar, where your volume icon is). This lets
you have immediate access to your 5 favourite SS profiles.
Simply right click on the System Tray Icon, and choose the
profile you want. Your profile will be transfered and SS
will be started all with one click of the mouse button. If
you want the B22SM to be available when you boot your computer,
you can put a shortcut in your Startup program group. To
start the B22SM in "quiet" mode, you need to add "/q" as your
command line option in the shortcut (without the quotes).
This will skip the splash screen and main from of the B22SM
and just add the System Tray Icon.

You can also start the B22SM with a command line switch to
load a .bsm file, then launch SS.

Simply create multiple shortcuts to B22SM.EXE with the
command line, as follows:

<drive>:<B22SM install path>\B22SM.EXE /lr:<bsmfilename>.bsm

eg:

c:\games\SSMGR\B22SM.exe /lr:c:\bsmfiles\mywarzone.bsm

Thats it! ('lr' stands for load/run). When you use this
method, you will not see any of the user interface to B22SM.
The program will simply load your .bsm file, transfer the
settings to Subspace (registry), and launch Subspace.

 The Log Utility
==================================================================

To bring up the log editor/filter, simply choose "Log Utility"
from the menu bar.

I think everything is fairly self explanatory on this screen.
You have the ability to filter our certain types of messages.
You can also choose to include or exclude any pilot name you
wish contained in the currently loaded log file.

The log window, include list and exclude list all have menus
you can bring up by right-clicking your mouse within the
respective window.

You can change the font that is used to display the log in
the "Options" menu.

Any changes you make to included message types, or the
include/exclude player list must be applied before you can
see the changes. Press the "Apply Filter" button to do this.
If you have a fast machine, or a small log file, you may wish
to have these changes show up immediately, without the need
for you to click the button. You can set this in the
"Options->Apply Filter Immediately" menu option.

==================================================================

To uninstall B22SM (whatever for?), just go to the control panel
and use Add/Remove programs.

How much am I charging for the finished product? $0.00.
This is my gift to the Subspace community. :)

Have fun with this,
