Subspace Level Editor - Revision History
----------------------------------------

v1.10
-----
The resizing border is back.

v1.09
-----
MUCH MORE STABLE.
Major internal changes. Things had gotten a bit goofy internally.
The editor is a lot more careful about its use of device contexts (DCs).
The Undo feature has been disabled. It was causing vast memory consumption
and at times seemed to hang the program.
Internally tiles are no longer stored in the order they were added to the
file. They are sorted for better performance.
The editor doesn't bother keeping the serialized version of the map up to date.
This will cause a delay when saving, but makes things much faster everywhere else.
It is now possible to fill an entire zone with tiles in a reasonable amount of time.
The selection highlighting is usually drawn and cleared correctly.
Ran it through Bounds Checker and removed a number of resource leaks and some bugs.

v1.08
-----
Row and column 1023 can now be seen & edited. This caused things which
appeared to be on the bottom/right of a map to be unconnected to the
  walls.
Added a 'Reset Window Positions' button to the options dialog, and made
  the default window size narrower.
Fixed a bug introduced in 1.07 which kept the editing portion of the
window from resizing when the main window was resized.
Changed compiler from VC 4.0 to VC 5.0

v1.07
-----
Cleared up hidden MessageBox() problem.
Moving the mouse quickly in paint mode no longer skips boxes.
Scrolling while drawing is much smoother.
Removed some unused resources

v1.06
-----
Fixed problem running in hi-color modes

v1.05
-----
This version is mostly a cleanup of existing code.
The palette management works now. Money may be the root of all evil but
I'm certain the GDI palette management is the trunk, or at the
very least a large lower branch of it.
Under the changes for 1.04 there is a claim that "Area tools are faster".
While this may be true of the actual insertion, the preview code got
noticably slower. The code has been sped up somewhat. Ellipses were
particularly bad. In this version the preview for ellipses appears as
a rectangle bounding the ellipse. This is replaced by the ellipse when
  you are done.
Imported tiles are now checked for valid size and palette depth.
Changing screen resolutions, either dynamically or between runs no longer
presents the possibility of entirely unreachable windows.
Importing and discarding tile sets works a bit differently now. This was
necessary to keep the palette management from getting out of whack.
Loading resources from RESOURCE.DLL was resulting in sharing violation
problems for some reason, so it has been disabled.

v1.04
-----
Added Undo
Added Options Dialog
Area tools are faster
The status bar is more informative
Selecting a large brush automatically switches to paint mode.
Zoom In/Out now try to maintain the center of the view area rather
  than the upper left corner.
The screen is properly updated when line and shape tools clear an
  animated tile.
LVL files with embedded tile sets are supported.
The display is now back-buffered for cleaner display. This also eliminates
problems with scrolling when the tile/tool window overlapped.
Real palette management (mostly functional - see the README)

v1.03
-----
A bottleneck in the display code has been removed. Things should be
  noticably faster.
Selected areas no longer flicker when the mouse pointer is over them.
In most cases the double refreshing of the screen is gone.
Tile brushes can now be selected from the menu bar.
Using the erase brush on already erased tiles no longer goes out and finds
  something else to delete
Added paster to brush from clipboard
Fixed a problem that caused the File|New menu option to crash in some cases.
New levels are now initialized to have unique names and do not load the
  contents of LOCAL.LVL
When exiting the program, or opening a different level, if the current
level has changed, you will be prompted to save the changes.
The path where LVL files are stored is now remembered.
Error message boxes are now shown IN FRONT OF the program windows they
  are modally disabling.
StatusBar information is now more consistent and reliable.
The window can no longer be sized off of the screen.
The mouse pointer becomes an hourglass during large screen updates.

v1.02
-----
Removed the white boxes appearing over new tiles with the 'Paint' tool.

v1.01
-----
The 'Cut' and 'Clear' for selections actually deletes now. Ooops.
The delete brush now works with the line and shape tools.
Ellipse and Filled Ellipse were added to the tools.
The tile data is now read from internal resources. At this point the ability
to use alternate sets of tiles no longer exists. Support for alternate
tiles was minimal in the first place though. This fixes a problem where
the program would not start if an LVL file in another directory was passed
  on the command line.
The problem of focus shifting to child windows has been alleviated (or at
  least the symptom has).
Some resource leaks have been removed. (most? all? a few?)
Removed some experimental multithreading code that wasn't helping.

v1.00
-----
