Readme documentation for the Subgame2 cfg to ASSS conf converter. USE: 1. Copy your CFG file to the same folder as converter.exe 2. Open a command prompt and run converter with the cfg name WITHOUT EXTENTION as a paramter. Example to convert SETTINGSNAME.cfg: Start->Run->command.com type "cd\" type "cd path\to\converter" at "c:\path\to\converter>" type "converter SETTINGSNAME" 3. Converter will generate 13 separate .conf files. Copy all of these files EXCEPT FOR ARENA.CONF and paste them in \asss\config\SETTINGSNAME. Take arena.conf and paste it to \asss\arenas\SETTINGSNAME\. The principle settings file will be \asss\config\SETTINGSNAME\SETTINGSNAME.conf 4. The converter has added, adapted, or moved various settings as it saw necessary, based on the settings already existant in the .cfg. This was done in the hopes of fastest conversion and compatibility. Everything un-guessable by the converter are left blank, and obsolete settings are commented instead of skipped. For example: Misc:LevelFiles was moved to General:LevelFiles, and General:Map=SETTINGSNAME.lvl has been added. Soccer:SpawnX=512 and Soccer:SpawnY=512 were added, Soccer:SpawnRadius was added and set equal to Prize:MinimumVirtual (the variable that subgame used to control ball spawn radius) How to create a set of settings used in all arenas: 1. Make a \asss\config\GlobalSettings\Global.conf file. 2. In this file, place the necessary #include statement, usually "#include conf/SVS/SVS.conf" and nothing else. 3. Make sure the \asss\defaultarena\arena.conf file contains "#include conf/GlobalSettings/Global.conf" 4. Make sure all \asss\arenas\...\arena.conf files contains "#include conf/GlobalSettings/Global.conf" This way, if you ever desire to change every arena's settings, you can simply edit \asss\GlobalSettings\Global.conf once, and every other file will update automatically. In fact, this is a very fast way to do mass-edits. Even if you dont want to import the settings in this manner, you should still make this file. Include it after your normal settings includes. You can easily change every arena's owner at once, or disable portals instantly should a bug be discovered.
