InvBot 0.6 -==- Small updates mainly. 1. Fixed plugin to read back names with spaces. 2. Now has a command to save a backup of the database so you have one just in case. As of right now you still have to copy the Backup.dat file to the same folder and rename to Money.dat for the backup to be used but I will try to add a restore command later. 3. I also added the Flag Victory to the list of things that can give players currency. You can find the setting in the ini file called Flag. Change that to the amount you want the team to receive on flag victory. -==- InvBot 0.5 - First official public release -==- Ok, first off... this is for everyone who has asked me for a new version of FlagMod with better Inventory/Store options but since my last update of FlagMod my computer fried itself and took my harddrives with it so I lost the source to FlagMod. InvMod is not meant to be a replacement for FlagMod in any way other than in the Inventory/Store category. So far this bot is superior in almost every way since I have set up the Store to be rather dynamic in how it is shown to the player. In the single(didn't I say this was better than FlagMod? :) ) ini file you can change which items the player can purchase and which items the player can purchase for the inventory making two seperate lists. Each of those can be turned on and off by changing the number beside the option between 0(off) and 1(on). Below those 2 lists in the ini file you will find another list of options called Price which has random numbers entered beside each option, change these to what you want to charge for each item when the player purchases it. If you set one of the options in the first 2 lists to 0 such as setting Portal=0 in both of the first two lists then you can still specify a price for the item as a dummy price in case you want to turn that option back on later on. Finally after setting the options in the top three lists there is a final list called Money Setup that takes care of all the prize calculations and currency naming. Read the ini file for help on the currency naming options. On a special note, Goal is for when a player scores a goal the entire team that player is on will receive the amount of points(currency) you specify, TeamKill is how much to take away from a player who has just team killed a player on the same freq as he/she is on(even though the number it is set to is positive in the ini file it will be subtracted from the player's account instead of added to it), and Kill is how much a player gets for killing someone on another team. All information is saved in a file called Money.dat and is saved each time a player's points(currency) changes do to goal, kill, or teamkill. -==- Known issuses -==- If bot crashes player accounts are erased for some unknown reason... next version will have a backup option for this reason. Bot will not give points(currency) for flag victories... forgot to put that in on this release, will be in next version. Players can not turn on/off kill reward messages like in FlagMod, will likely be fixed in next version. If you find anything else I may have missed please email me so I can take care of it. -==- Installation -==- In spawns.txt, use invbot.dll instead of default.dll or blank. In spawns.txt, use *super moderator password instead of *moderator password. Hey, stranger things have been known to happen... -==- Contact Info -==- If you have any questions, which seems very unlikely since I have explained everything above that is new, then please fill free to contact me. I don't have any affiliations with Catid nor MERVBot which is entirely Catid's creation, as far as I know, but I guess I will be nice and put Catid's email addy here as well just in case you want to complain about MERVBot, you complain to Catid about my plugin mod and you probably won't even get a reply so don't bother, just contact me about problems with the plugin and I will try to get back to you ASAP with either a way to fix the current plugin version or just release a new version for you to test. Also if you have a website and are wanting to put my plugin on your site for download then feel free to contact me as well so I can keep track of all the sites that are offering legit copies(non-virused copies, at least we hope the antivirus programs catch them all) and put the URL in the download list. OmegaFirebolt - flaming_thundah79@netzero.net Catid - Catid@pacbell.net -==- Beta Testers Wanted -==- If you want to be a beta tester and try my beta releases of this plugin in your own zone which has a population of more than 2 or 3 when the bot is running and help me track down any new bugs that may appear in future releases or give feedback on what you might like to see implemented in future versions, then please feel free to drop me a line. The only restriction I have is that if you ask for me to add code that makes the bot move around, shoot at you, dodge your attacks, and die when you damage it enough... it's not going to happen... not yet anyways. Anything else you might think of though is fair game, unless it is like REALLY unreasonable or something... I will let you know by email if you are to start receiving beta releases of the plugin so you are not left in the dark about it, if you don't get an email from me after requesting to be a beta tester then you may not have met the population requirements for your zone. Don't think I will just delete every request even if your zone only has 2 or 3 players in it when the bot is running since I will try to be forgiving on that part most of the time. I will reserve the right to drop any beta tester from my list if I find out they have been passing around any beta release to anyone outside my beta testers list unless that beta tester has been given permission by me that it is ok for that release to enter the mainstream. -==- Thanks -==- Catid - for helping putting up with me ever since starting FlagMod and again since I started InvBot. Sting - for putting this plugin up on SS-Continuum Rendezvous.
