Many zones have many different settings... here we will try to explain some of these settings for you so your first experience in these zones won't be the "sitting duck" it might be otherwhise. If you got a special gamestyle in your zone that is not mentioned here then feel free to send in a little request for a gamestyle review to the Admins at: admin@ssdownloads.com or if you want to make his work easier send in your own explanation (minimum 250 words).

ONE SHOT KILL
One Shot Kill Zones are very popular, fast kills make it appealing to newbies as well as veterans. Newbies are attracted to these zones for easy kills that don't require much skill, but don't be fooled! They require skill especially at the "Uber l337" level, being able to use the thrust properly to dodge fire without getting hit once is something that takes time to learn. Players must master their accuracy in order to outwit their opponents in order become champ not chump. Maneuvering your ship correctly to fool your opponents into firing somewhere else other then at you is key. To succeed in these zones you should also learn all the special shots on the map that'll give you the advantage above the rest, this sometimes just takes time and testing out different spots on your part. Using objects on the map such as asteroids will give you the upper hand, for example you can position yourself so that enemy fire can be blocked by an asteroid or wall, allowing you to recharge safely or get that shot off that'll kill your opponent. I suggest configuring your client settings to your liking, higher resolutions allow you to see the enemy from farther away. These zones are fast paced and keep you on your toes for any strays or enemy fire that might take you out at any moment.

FLAGGING
Flagging is a team-based game where teams "duke" it out to gain possession of flags that give periodic rewards or bonuses. Organization and communication amongst teammates is a must to be successful in your attempts to acquire and hold the flags from your opponents. The most important player on the each team is the anchor, he/she is the player that everyone attaches to in order to attack bases for flags or defend them from others. Teams need to use ships such as bombers when they are most efficient, for example if your base is being rushed by the enemy, a bomber may be able to take out many of them with one shot instead of using "dog fighting" ships to suppress the enemy. When your team steals some flags they should be stored in a familiar area such as a base where it can be well defended. Knowing key areas to shoot from will allow you to kill many enemies while keeping you relatively safe. Knowing when to attack and when to defend is very important; macro's and constant communication will help in your attempts to gather all the flags. There is a multitude of ships that usually have different strengths allowing for teams to have certain strengths and weaknesses. Flagging is a popular and unique game that provides countless hours of enjoyment with a fun team based atmosphere.

POWERBALL
Powerball is a fast game that revolves around one ball; it's kind of like soccer but with a twist. Players are allowed to kill their opponents to get the ball and score some goals. The rules are quite simple; the game is finished when one team gets 6 points and is ahead by 3. Therefore the game is finished if a team gets 3-6 or 8-5 for example. Warbirds and Javs are the two ships used in Powerball, they both have the same settings. Once you obtain a ball, you can carry it for a short period of time before it is dropped automatically. When you are in a group of teammates, and one of you has a ball, don't dodge the bombs if they are headed to the core of the group, catch them for the team so that your team can keep possession of the ball. Also when you're intercepting a group of enemies with a ball, try to position yourself between the carrier and possible persons he could pass to allowing you to either steal the ball or kill the holder and take it. The ball looks kind of like an orange fireball, it has a proximity sensor that makes it attach to any ship that is close enough if the ball is free. The goals are small squares that are not more than 10 units in width. A team has 15 members allowing you to have 10 people going for the ball, the other 5 will either be dead and sitting out their penalty or are on their way to a ball. Players must work together to pass the ball to each other when they are open because it is faster then flying and allows for awesome plays to be made that score those much needed goals. Powerball is a fun game that can become an obsession, beware it is very addictive!

SVS
SVS stands for Standard Vie Settings. These settings were being used in all of Subspace during time the game was being developed. SVS settings are very well balanced allowing each ship to be able to compete with the others. It takes some time but eventually you'll get the hang of ship rotation, aim and speed. The main way succeed in these games are to just plain practice a lot so that you don't have to think about aiming or flying, but instead reacting on what moves your enemy does and how you can counter them to beat him. The configuration allows for different strengths and weaknesses in every ship but maintains an overall well balanced game. Using the unique characteristics of the map you are playing on can be harnessed to help you defeat your opponent. A good idea may be to try to reduce lag when you are playing by not running other programs that use the internet such as Icq because you never know when a shot might pop out of nowhere. Fiddling around with the client settings till your comfortable with them is also a good idea and may improve your gameplay. These settings are a good way to start off and get used to the way the game works, eventually allowing a player to easily adapt to other settings as they explore new zones.

These zones settings are pumped up a notch above other settings, spreading chaos across the zone. Players create endless waves of fire with up to two shots per a second making a huge mess across the entire map in order to kill their opponents. Remember to use the resources you are given wisely, using repels inefficiently may lead to your downfall. These zones are said to be "newbie zones" but do require some skill to stay alive and kill your enemy at the same time. Try not to shoot to many shots at nothing because you don't know where your enemy's might pop up and take advantage of your distasteful use of resources. Strategy is very important to surviving in these types of games because everyone is very powerful, use your shots wisely and try to maneuver your ship so that it receives as little hits as possible, giving you more energy to shoot back at your enemy. The goal of these zones are to destroy your enemy's in anyway you can without being a victim in all the shooting that goes on. These zones always prove to be exciting and a fun way to "let your gun off" by destroying lots of ships with your crazy bombs!
